On 10 December, a solemn and at the same time emotional extended meeting of the Academic Council was held to mark the 135th anniversary of the founding of the Institute of Climate-Smart Agriculture of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences. This day became a symbol of respect for the many years of work of scientists, the history of the Institute and its future prospects.

135 years is a whole era of changes, challenges and victories. From its foundation as an agricultural research station to its transformation into a modern research centre with a focus on climate challenges. The Institute has always been at the forefront of changes in Ukrainian agriculture, supporting farmers with innovative developments and scientific advice.

Wars, economic crises and natural disasters have not been able to stop the progress. Today, the Institute of Climate-Smart Agriculture of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine is a centre of knowledge that is of strategic importance for the country's food security and adaptation of the agricultural sector to climate change.

Important achievements in 135 years:

- Selection and introduction of new plant varieties and hybrids adapted to climate change.

- Developing innovative technologies to preserve moisture and increase yields in drought conditions.

- Developing strategies for adapting the agricultural sector to global climate challenges.

- Innovative farming technologies and sustainable soil management.

Each achievement is the result of the coordinated work of a team of scientists, farmers and partners of the Institute.

The most sincere part of the meeting was the speech of the Institute's director, Raisa Vozhegova. Her words pierced the hearts of everyone present:

"135 years is a history created by hundreds of talented people. These are years of tireless work, fighting for every new variety, every innovative technology. I am sincerely grateful to everyone who is part of this big family today. We have survived in difficult times, and it is thanks to our team that our Institute has a future. Your dedication, professionalism and love of science inspire me every day. Today I bow to each of you!"

Today, the Institute of Climate-Smart Agriculture of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine is working on the challenges facing the agricultural sector of Ukraine and the world:

- Adaptation to climate change - developing new varieties that can withstand drought and extreme weather conditions.

- Innovations in conservation agriculture include the use of no-till tillage technologies and the restoration of degraded land.

- Digitalisation agriculture - using remote sensing data to monitor crop conditions and forecast yields.

The 135th anniversary of the Institute is a holiday not only for its employees but also for the entire scientific community of Ukraine. Congratulations came from representatives of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine, fellow scientists, partners and farmers. All of them emphasised the important role of the Institute in ensuring the food security of the state.

"You are a shining example of resilience, intelligence and faith in science. Your work is more than science. It is a contribution to the future of Ukraine!" said Yaroslav Hadzalo, President of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences.

Despite the difficulties, the scientists of this Institute work daily to ensure that the Ukrainian agricultural sector Their developments are the key to food security, and today, more than ever, we see how important this is for the country.

"Let this anniversary serve as a reminder that no challenge can break true science. We are confidently stepping into the future, and even greater victories await us!" said Irina Kovaleva, Director of the Tairov Research Center for IP and VD.

On the occasion of its anniversary, the Institute of Climate-Smart Agriculture of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine congratulated Alla Stoyanova.

This date is a testament not only to your rich history, but also to your unwavering commitment to science, innovation and sustainable development. For centuries, you have been guarding the main wealth of our land - soil fertility, efficient use of natural resources and adaptation of the agricultural sector to climate challenges.

Your Institute is not just an institution, it is a living history that combines the wisdom of generations, dedication and commitment to development. For decades, you have been paving the way for a sustainable and climate-friendly future, adapting Ukraine's agricultural sector to the challenges of today.

And today, you continue to be our partner, a reliable partner of the farmers of Odesa region. As part of the Memorandum of Understanding, we are now embarking on a new project with the Institute's team - the introduction of Japanese nanobubble technology, which is the saturation of irrigation water with oxygen - 3 million nanobubbles in one cubic centimetre of water.

And this project is also doomed to success.

Your work is a contribution to the food security of our country, to the preservation of Ukrainian breeding, and to the development of solutions that give hope even in the most difficult times. Thanks to your perseverance, Ukrainian farmers are implementing the most modern methods, using climate-friendly technologies and increasing the wealth of our land.

On behalf of Ukrainian agrarians and agrarians of Odesa region in particular, we say: "Thank you for everything you do for our land, our country, our farmers and future generations!"

Raisa Anatoliyivna, your incredible strength charges your team, charges our agricultural community, and the path you have travelled, we have only seen it in the film, but for you it is your real life, a real path that I am sure has only made you stronger!
