🔴VAR AND THE AGRARIANS OF ODESA REGION: A COMMON COURSE FOR DEVELOPMENT

Add to favourites

🌾On 16 June, a working meeting of Odesa region agrarians was held at Zolotyi Urozhay LLC, organised at the initiative of the All-Ukrainian Agrarian Council (AAC). The event has become an important platform for discussing current challenges and developing practical solutions for the development of the region's agricultural sector in wartime and climate change.

Zolotoy Urozhay LLC is not only a successful agricultural enterprise, but also an example of an effective combination of innovation, modern management and strategic thinking. This company is the owner of the high-tech dry port Viking-Pivden, a new generation logistics hub that opens up new opportunities for farmers in southern Ukraine to enter markets, reduce logistics costs and increase product competitiveness.

🔥Among the key topics discussed during the meeting:

  • Strategy for the development of irrigation in conditions of limited water resources;
  • The ecological state of Lake Katlabukh and the need for immediate intervention;
  • Analysis of changes in legislation related to agricultural business by UAC experts;
  • Interaction with the authorities to support the agricultural sector;
  • Development of logistics infrastructure and modernisation of elevator capacities.

Andrii Dykun, Head of the UAC, emphasised the critical situation around Lake Katlabukh, which is the lifeblood of irrigated agriculture in the region. The lake is rapidly shrinking, and if urgent measures are not taken, farmers will face an acute shortage of water in the near future.
Already today, Voda.Zhyttia, which has invested huge sums of money in the reconstruction of pumping stations and the restoration of the irrigation network, is experiencing the consequences of water balance degradation.

This example demonstrates that investment is only part of the solution. The problem cannot be overcome without a systematic approach from the state, local authorities and the combined efforts of all stakeholders in the agricultural sector.

An equally important part of the meeting was a professional analysis of legislative changes that directly affect agricultural producers. The UAC experts provided clear explanations of the innovations, in particular in the field of taxation, land relations and agricultural insurance, and outlined future risks and prospects.

👍The meeting confirmed that despite the challenges, the agrarians of Odesa region are united, motivated and ready for joint action. The focus is not only on crop preservation, but also on the strategy for the years ahead: sustainable developmentinnovative approaches and effective interaction with all levels of government.

📣Today we have taken another step towards the formation of a strong agrarian community that not only grows bread, but also builds the future of Ukraine.

💬Alla Stoyanova, deputy of the Odesa Regional Council, expert on economics and agricultural policy, emphasises:
"When farmers of Odesa region come together, it is not just a conversation about problems, it is a moment of strength. Today's meeting showed that we are not alone. We are part of a large, hard-working, unbreakable agricultural family. And right now, when water is becoming worth its weight in gold, when Katlabukh - not just a lake, but the lifeblood of the region - is drying up before our eyes, our main task is to act. Because those who feed the country must be protected and supported.

Zolotyi Urozhay LLC is not only a farm, it is an example of what the agrarian Ukraine of the future should look like: with innovations, modern logistics, and a team that thinks not only in terms of harvest but also in terms of strategy. And I am grateful to everyone who not only came today, but also came with ideas, pain and a desire for change.

We have no right to lose our land, water and faith. So, we keep working. Side by side. For the sake of bread, for the sake of people, for the sake of our victory - both in the field and in the country."
