❗️17 April, an extremely important document was signed in Odesa - a Memorandum of Cooperation within the framework of the Local Employment Partnership initiative.
It is a symbol of unity, empathy and real action for the future of those who need it most.
The project is being implemented with the support of the International Labour Organisation and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark, which gives it not only scale but also international importance. It is thanks to this support that Odesa region is becoming even closer to European standards of social justice and equal opportunities.
One of the parties to the signing was the NGO "Agrarians of Odesa Region", which is represented by Alla STOYANOVA - is an open-hearted leader with boundless faith in the potential of the Ukrainian agricultural sector.
✋🏻Мета The purpose of the Memorandum is to consolidate efforts to support vulnerable groups: internally displaced persons, veterans, women, people aged 50+, and people with disabilities. All of them need a fresh start, and this document is that chance. A chance for decent work, a new profession, a return to active life. This is about professional training, retraining, skills development, information about entrepreneurship, and integration into the region's socio-economic processes.
Maryna Kurochkina, President of the NGO "Tenth of April", emphasised:
"Today we have laid the foundations for joint action for real change. Every signature is a responsibility to people. We are committed to restoring their faith in tomorrow through decent work, education and development. This is not just a partnership - it is humanity in action."
Olga Masalkina, MNP Initiative Manager in Odesa Region, presented the initiative's implementation strategy. She provided an in-depth analytical overview of the labour market problems in Odesa region, outlining the shortage of personnel in key industries, including the agricultural sector, logistics, and services. She also suggested practical ways to address these challenges: from engaging young people in career guidance to launching adaptation programmes.
💬Igor Prysiazhnenko, coordinator of the MHI initiative, focused on the mechanisms for achieving the goals:
- launching a regional platform for interaction between employers and job seekers;
- Implementation of professional development and mentoring programmes;
- creating "entry points" for vulnerable groups in communities.
⛳️Ключові expected performance of the initiative:
- More than 100 people will be trained or retrained;
- creating an interactive database of vacancies and the needs of employers in the region;
- engaging at least 50 employers to actively participate in the programme.
💬Alla Stoyanova, commenting on the importance of the signed Memorandum for the agricultural sector, said:
"The village is not just about land. It is about people. It's about those who stayed, who returned, who are looking for themselves after losing their homes. Odesa region's agricultural sector is ready to become the foundation on which they can rebuild their lives. We are open to cooperation, we believe in people, we believe in the power of work. Together with our international partners and government institutions, we will create new jobs, train and support them. Because the future begins with taking care of those around us."
This day is yet another proof that even in the darkest times, the light of humanity, partnership and action can change destinies. And Odesa region today is a region where this is exactly what is happening.
💙💛WE WORK TOGETHER TO WIN!
