✍🏻24 On April 2025, the XXII International Scientific and Practical Conference "Scientific Problems of Management at the Macro-, Meso- and Microeconomic Levels" was held at Odesa National Economic University. The event brought together leading scientists, government officials, economic experts, community leaders and graduate students from all over Ukraine and other countries.

📣The conference was aimed at providing in-depth scientific substantiation of modern economic processes, developing strategic approaches to resource management at all levels of the economy - from the national to the local.

Rector of ONEU, Doctor of Economics, Professor Anatolii Kovalev opened the event with a speech on the importance of combining scientific potential with the practical needs of modern management:
"Today, Ukraine needs systemic solutions based on in-depth analysis and clear economic guidelines. The ONEU is one of those platforms where not only theoretical foundations but also specific practical recommendations for the real sector of the economy are formed."

📊Panel discussion: strategic development territorial communities
Particular attention was paid to the discussion on the development of strategies for the development of territorial communities, in particular the city of Odesa. Given the new challenges of decentralisation, the experts stressed the need for a professional approach to strategic planning based on analytical data, forecasting models and innovative solutions.
The discussion focused on the following key areas:

• development of economic self-sufficiency of communities;
• digital transformation and smart management approaches;
• introduction of public-private partnership instruments;
• Adapting communities to environmental and social challenges.

Olena Ivanova, Regional Development Expert of RDA, noted the importance of training for community representatives:
"In order for communities to take full advantage of the available grant and government programmes, it is necessary to teach them how to properly prepare project documentation, build logical and structural models, and determine performance indicators. This is the basis on which effective development management is built."

Experts also stressed the need to establish effective horizontal and vertical communication between communities, authorities, businesses and academic institutions. This approach allows for quick access to new opportunities, adaptation to changes, and attraction of investments.

Alla Stoyanova, regional economics expert, summed up:
"A strong economy starts with proper coordination of all stakeholders. Synergy, transparency and strategic consistency form the basis for sustainable growth. We need to learn to see communities not only as administrative units, but as full-fledged centres of economic development."
