On 18 May, the Agriculture section of the International Bessarabian Economic Forum thoroughly discussed the topic of banking programmes to support the agricultural sector.

Representatives of the banks presented their existing loan products.

Since the beginning of the year, 6,724 agricultural enterprises have received UAH 43.2 billion in bank loans for development. Of these, 3,980 farms received UAH 18.3 billion in loans under the government programme "Affordable Loans 5-7-9".

Thanks to well-coordinated cooperation, since the beginning of 2024, 354 farms in Odesa region have received UAH 1.3 billion under the Affordable Loans programme. This financial instrument has become the most effective mechanism for providing farmers with working capital. We are facing a strategic task to prevent a food crisis. The task is multifactorial. On the one hand, we need to help farmers get information about available programmes. On the other hand, we need to organise the work of all branches so that the farmer who has grown the crop can not only harvest it, but also store, process and deliver it to the consumer," says Alla STOYANOVA.
