"THE ISOTOPE LABORATORY AND THE WINE OF VICTORY: A SCIENTIFIC BREAKTHROUGH AND THE PATRIOTIC FUTURE OF UKRAINIAN WINEMAKING"

On 8 November, the National Research Centre "V.E. Tairov Institute of Viticulture and Winemaking" of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine became a meeting place for the best scientists, farmers, politicians and businessmen who gathered for the International Tairov Readings. This important event is more than just a scientific conference. It is a platform for identifying strategic ways to develop Ukrainian viticulture and winemaking, which has a symbolic meaning for everyone who believes in the revival and strengthening of the domestic agricultural sector.

Among the honoured guests of the event were leading figures in the Ukrainian agricultural sector who shared their thoughts and support for Ukrainian winegrowers and winemakers.

Oleksandr STARYNETS, Secretary of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Agrarian and Land Policy, noted that viticulture is not only about traditions but also about new opportunities. He emphasised: "Ukraine's viticulture has a huge potential, and government support is a key factor in realising this potential to the fullest."

Ihor Vishtak, Director of the Agricultural Development Department of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, stressed the importance of modern scientific developments in viticulture, which contribute to the quality of Ukrainian wine products. "Supporting innovative research in viticulture is an investment in the future that will allow Ukrainian wines to win the hearts of global consumers," said Vishtak.

Dmytro RADULOV, Deputy Head of the Odesa Regional State Military Administration, stressed the importance of the Odesa region for viticulture and winemaking. He expressed his belief that Odesa region will become the centre of Ukraine's viticultural renaissance: "We must create all the conditions for the development of this industry, which is not only traditional for Odesa region, but also of strategic importance for Ukraine."

Ihor Hrynyk, acting First Vice President of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine, stressed that government support is particularly important now that the viticulture sector is on the verge of entering new markets: "It is our duty to provide Ukrainian farmers with all the necessary conditions for the realisation of the boldest ideas."

An important role in strengthening the position of Ukrainian wines is played by the quality of the products, which is already being recognised not only in local markets but also abroad.

Iryna Kovaleva, Director of the Tairov Institute, emphasised the importance of the Wine Quality Control Laboratory: _"This is a scientifically based way to natural wine, and we are pleased that we are finally able to control the quality of our products at the highest level."

Volodymyr Pechko, Chairman of the Public Union "Ukrsadvynprom" and Doctor of Philosophy, stressed that the development of viticulture and winemaking is possible only with the support of the state and close cooperation between scientists and producers: "The Tairov Institute is our pride and a centre of innovation that opens the door for Ukraine to the global wine market."

Alla STOYANOVA, a well-known agricultural expert, emphasised that today the legislation is changing in favour of the grape grower and winemaker, opening up new opportunities for the market. "We are doing our best to help our winegrowers, winemakers and institutions. Thanks to government support and the fruitful work of a powerful Odesa team of scientists, we will be able to grow new varieties adapted to the conditions of Odesa region, which will become a symbol of Victory," Stoyanova said, adding that the "*Victory Wine*" will be made from special varieties, including Odesa black grapes, which are already becoming a national pride.

Special attention was paid to the creation of a new isotope laboratory at the Institute. This laboratory will become a unique tool for ensuring transparency and quality of Ukrainian wine products, allowing to control the origin and authenticity of wines, as well as to provide scientifically based conclusions on product quality. This innovation will not only promote transparency, but will also enable Ukrainian wines to meet the highest international standards.

Alla STOYANOVA stressed the importance of establishing an isotope laboratory at the Tairov Institute of Viticulture and Winemaking as a crucial step to ensure the quality and authenticity of Ukrainian wines. According to her, this laboratory will not only bring Ukrainian products to a new level, but will also strengthen the trust in our wines in the domestic and international markets.

"The isotope laboratory is a scientific centre for verifying the quality and origin of wine, which will allow winemakers to be confident in their products and consumers to be sure of their purity and naturalness. This laboratory is not just a new tool, but a guarantee of the future of our industry, which will help Ukrainian wine to reach the highest standards," said Alla Andriyivna.

Stoyanova also emphasised that the scientific support provided by the Tairov Institute is the basis for the development of new grape varieties adapted to the climate conditions of Odesa region. According to her, these varieties not only increase yields but also meet international quality requirements, which is a crucial factor for exports and positioning Ukraine as a wine-producing country.

"Government support is indispensable here. The introduction of the latest varieties, which should become our strategic asset, depends on financial assistance. This is an opportunity not only to create new jobs, but also to strengthen the image of Ukraine as a reliable producer of quality wine. I am confident that the Ukrainian "Wine of Victory" made from Odesa black grapes will become a national symbol of revival. This wine already represents the country with dignity at the international level and inspires new achievements in a peaceful future."

Innovations, government support and patriotic spirit are the foundations that will ensure the success of Ukrainian viticulture and winemaking in the future.
