🌱 THE POWER OF WOMEN AND LAND: HOW GRANT SUPPORT CHANGES THE LIVES OF UKRAINIAN FAMILIES 🌱

Add to favourites

In a small village in the Starokozatska community of Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi district, there lives an ordinary but extraordinary woman - Natalia. She is a kindergarten teacher, a mother of two children, one of whom has a disability, and a tireless worker on her own land. She not only grows potatoes and vegetables, keeps a cow, pigs and chickens, but also proves every day that love for the land and work are the basis of a decent life in the countryside.

In 2025, Natalia received strong support from the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations (FAO) with the assistance of the governments of France, Norway and Germany. The family received a drip irrigation system, high-quality vegetable seeds and a voucher for UAH 16,600. For Natalia, this is not just help - it is a real chance for development. Now she will be able to grow more food not only for her own family but also for sale, earning a stable income and confidence in the future.

📌 FAO programmes in Ukraine - It's not just about technology or money. It's about people. It's about women who stay in villages and continue to work on the land, despite all the difficulties. It's about families for whom farm work is the only source of income. And about the support that not only relieves the financial burden but also opens up new horizons.

🔹Recommendations for farmers in Odesa region:
✔️ If you live in a rural community and are engaged in agriculture, you should be interested in FAO support programmes. This is a real opportunity to get modern resources for effective work.
✔️ Don't be afraid to ask for help - not only large farms but also small families need support.
✔️ Unite with other farmers in your community - together it is easier to advocate for your needs and draw the attention of donors to your problems.

The NGO "Agrarians of Odesa Region" is confident that "Natalia's story is proof that even a small amount of support can change fate. A drip system, seeds, and a few thousand hryvnias are an investment in food security, a decent life, and economic stability for an entire family. This is the future of the Ukrainian villageIt is the future that rests on people like Natalia. And it is these people who should be supported by the state, international partners and communities. Because the strength of the Ukrainian farmer depends on the strength of the whole of Ukraine." 💛💙
