INNOVATIONS IN ACTION: INNOHUB HELPS UKRAINE AND ODESHCHINA IN PARTICULAR TO CREATE THE FUTURE

Add to favourites

Today, Odesa National Economic University hosted a roundtable discussion on Commercialisation of University Innovations, an important event organised as part of the *InnoHub* project.

This event brought together scientists, business and government representatives, as well as students and young researchers to discuss the way to active commercialisation of scientific developments. The main topics of discussion were international experience in this area, new opportunities for a platform to support university innovations, and the role of such projects in strengthening the country's economic development.

The focus was on how the university-business-government triangle can attract investment for its developments and what steps are needed to create a single platform that will be the key to cooperation between universities, businesses, investors and government. Such a platform has an ambitious goal: to help universities not only create but also commercialise their innovations, turning knowledge into practical products that change our everyday lives.

International experience shows that partnerships between science and business can transform entire sectors of the economy. For example, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) is known for its successful start-ups that have become global giants, such as *Dropbox* and *Biogen*.

Platforms such as the MIT Innovation Initiative or Stanford's StartX have become not only a place to exchange ideas, but also a source of new solutions and breakthroughs in business and technology. A similar approach has great potential for Ukraine, where national universities are becoming centres of the creative economy, capable of attracting investment and contributing to GDP growth.

Alla STOYANOVA, a well-known economic expert, stressed the importance of such meetings and providing universities with space to develop innovations. She noted: "Today, we are on the threshold of a new era when ideas born within the walls of universities are transformed into real products and solutions.

This is not just science - it is a force that can create a new future for our country. We have to build a bridge between science and the market, because behind every innovation there is not only a product, but also dreams, talent and a great future for Ukraine."

The goal of the *InnoHub* project is to create an effective platform that will support every promising development. It is a platform for those who want to bring their ideas to the global level, where they can help solve real problems. During the roundtable, the platform's capabilities were presented, including access to international investors, technical expertise, mentoring and assistance in obtaining patents.

InnoHub is a kind of "innovation bridge" that can create new opportunities not only for universities, but also for young professionals who want to make a difference. And it is platforms like this that open up new paths that will allow scientists not only to develop their ideas but also to find partners willing to invest in Ukraine's future.
