PRESERVATION OF BEES: A GIFT FROM NATURE THAT MUST NOT BE LOST

Add to favourites

🐝Bees are small but extremely important creatures, without which life on our planet would be completely different. They don't just produce honey and wax, but are an integral part of the ecosystem, without which we cannot imagine the existence of many plants.

Nowadays, when bees face enormous threats, their conservation is becoming not just an environmental need, but a matter of survival for all living beings on Earth.

🔥However, bees are now under huge threat. The massive death of bees in 2024 has become a serious challenge for Ukrainian beekeepers, especially in Odesa region, which has suffered the most.

According to analytical data, five regions of Ukraine recorded the largest losses of bee colonies:

Odesa region - 727 partially affected bee colonies, 32 affected apiaries.

Kyiv region - 1000 partially affected bee colonies, 15 affected apiaries.

Mykolaiv region - 865 partially affected bee colonies, 11 affected apiaries.

📊 The main causes of bee death:

✔️ Uncontrolled use of pesticides. Illegal or improper use of agrochemicals leads to bee poisoning.

✔️Недостатній monitoring of the environmental situation. Lack of an effective system for tracking the impact of agrochemicals on insects.

✔️ Climate change. Weather changes have a negative impact on vegetation and bee activity.

✔️ Infectious diseases. The lack of timely diagnosis of diseases leads to the rapid spread of infections in hives.

✅ Recommendations for the protection of bees:

1. Legislative control. Increased responsibility for violation of pesticide use rules, creation of a register of safe drugs.

2. Expansion of laboratory control. Introduce mandatory testing of fields for residual chemicals.

3. Awareness of farmers. Conducting information campaigns on the safe use of plant protection products.

4. Collaboration of beekeepers and farmers. Establishment of an early warning system for field treatment.

5. State support. Allocation of grants for the development of ecological beekeeping.

Preserving bees is not only about protecting the beekeeping industry, but also about the country's food security.
