AGROINNOVATIONS: BESSARABIAN RICE - NATURAL TASTE AND QUALITY

Add to favourites

🍚Rice is one of the most important food crops in the world, providing the basic nutritional needs of millions of people.

Growing Ukrainian rice is important for the country's food security, as it reduces dependence on imports and ensures a stable supply of this product on the domestic market.

In addition, the expansion of rice crops contributes to the development of the agricultural sector and the creation of new jobs.

👩‍🌾Stoyanov A.A. Farm demonstrates a successful example of innovation in agriculture by becoming the first farm in the region to grow rice using drip irrigation.

This approach not only opens up new horizons and prospects for local farmers, but also contributes to the development of the region and the country's food security.

The unique drip-irrigated rice project is an important step towards the future of Bessarabia's agricultural sector.

🍛Growing rice using drip irrigation is a completely innovative method for the Odesa region. Traditionally, rice requires a large amount of water and is grown on flooded checkerboard fields, which significantly limits its ability to grow in regions with water shortages.

Drip irrigation allows you to use water efficiently, reducing water consumption and providing optimal conditions for plant growth.

And it is not only economically viable, but also environmentally friendly.

🤝We visited Stoyanov A.A. to get acquainted with the results of rice cultivation under drip irrigation:

✔️Ivan Yatsko - representative of Corteva Agriscience in Odesa region

✔️Evgeniy Istiferov - Head of the sales team of plant protection products in Odesa and Mykolaiv regions of Corteva Agriscience

✔️Tetiana Dudchenko is the agronomic support manager for the Southern region of Corteva Agriscience.

💬Ivan YATSKO notes that "we have good impressions. We have seen positive results in germination. The rice is in excellent condition. The plants are provided with nutrients and an optimal irrigation regime is maintained."

🫧The use of drip irrigation can significantly increase yields, improve product quality and reduce cultivation costs.

This creates opportunities for expanding the area under crops and increasing production, which will contribute to the development of the region's economy and food security.

💬"Rice farming has always been associated with large water resources and difficult working conditions.

However, thanks to drip irrigation, we have found a way that allows us to use water more efficiently, reducing its consumption and preserving a precious resource.

This innovative solution not only makes our cultivation process more sustainable, but also opens up opportunities for the development of our farm and the entire region.

As farmers, we have a special love for our work. For us, land is not just a resource, it is our life, our pride and our responsibility.

Every seed, every harvest is the result of our hard work, our dreams and hopes.

Growing rice using drip irrigation is not just a technological breakthrough, it is our response to the challenges of the times, it is our desire for development.

By introducing drip irrigation, we show our readiness for innovative solutions and changes that make us stronger and more efficient.

We are not afraid of new challenges, because we know that every step forward is a step towards a better future for us and our children," says Alla STOYANOVA.
