AGROMONEY: FREE FERTILISERS FOR UKRAINIAN FARMERS

Add to favourites

The US government has launched a new grant programme under the AGRI-Ukraine initiative that will provide mineral fertilisers to 9,500 Ukrainian farmers for the autumn planting season of 2024. This assistance is aimed at supporting farmers from the southern, central, western and northwestern regions of Ukraine. This project is part of the USAID AGRO Programme's activities.

Agricultural producers who meet the following criteria can receive fertilisers:

  • The size of the land holdings ranges from 5 to 500 hectares in the following regions: Vinnytsia, Volyn, Zhytomyr, Zakarpattia, Ivano-Frankivsk, Kyiv, Kirovohrad, Lviv, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Poltava, Rivne, Ternopil, Khmelnytsky, Cherkasy, Chernivtsi.
  • Type of crop: growing grain or oilseeds.
  • Form of registration: legal entities or individual entrepreneurs, including family farms.

Preference will be given to farms run by women, as well as to those agricultural producers who have not previously received fertilizer support from USAID AGRO.

Applications will be accepted from 24 June to 4 July or until the aid is exhausted. Each approved participant will receive 1 tonne of nitroammophoska. Registration for assistance will take place through the State Agrarian Register (SAR) in the section "Available Programmes" - "USAID AGRO_1 tonne of Nitroammophosphate (NPK), 2024".

During 2023 and early 2024, through the USAID AGRI-Ukraine Initiative, USAID AGRO provided fertilizers to more than 14,000 Ukrainian agricultural producers, providing resources for field work on an area of more than 460,000 hectares and enabling them to grow at least 2 million tonnes of grain.

"Support programmes are extremely important for Ukraine's agricultural sector, especially under martial law. They not only help farmers preserve their crops, but also support the country's food security. Every agricultural producer that meets the programme's criteria must apply to benefit from this assistance. We believe in the victory and development of the Ukrainian agricultural sector, even in difficult times!" says Alla Stoyanova.
