It was about how agricultural systems are changing when innovation is the fulcrum and sustainability and climate adaptation are the goal. It was about the fact that the future is not somewhere else, it is already here, in the technologies that are being born in the South of Ukraine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Bioadaptation<\/strong> - is the key to food security. We are entering the most challenging century. According to the FAO, by 2050, humanity will need 60% more food, while arable land is shrinking by almost 30 million hectares annually.<br>Ukraine is already experiencing these challenges more acutely than others:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Over 20 years, the average annual temperature in the South has increased by almost 1.5\u00b0C;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the number of days with drought increased by 30-40%;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Crop losses in the steppe zone in some years reached 40-60%.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>In these conditions, bioadaptation technologies are the only chance to maintain food independence and build an economy that does not break under climate pressure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\ud83d\udc4d A WELCOME SPEECH THAT SETS THE STRATEGIC TONE<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Raisa Vozhegova, Academician of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine, Director of the Institute of Climate-Smart Agriculture of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine, opened the conference with words that became a guiding light for each participant:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udcac\"Climate change is no longer a forecast - it is a reality that requires solutions. Bioadaptation is a new philosophy of agriculture. Ukraine has the potential to become a regional leader if we combine science, business and government into one transformational system.\"<br>These words set the pace of the discussion - professional, ambitious and strategic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\ud83d\udd25THE REGION'S POSITION: INNOVATION IS THE BEST RESPONSE TO CHALLENGES<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Serhii KONONENKO, Director of the Regional Development Agency of Odesa Oblast, emphasised:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udcac\"Odesa region is a region that is not afraid to take on the role of a platform for innovation. We are building an environment where science is transformed into technologies and ready-made solutions for agricultural producers. It is thanks to this position that the Agency has become a platform where partnerships, international initiatives and the new economic reality of the South of Ukraine are born.\"<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\ud83d\ude9c THE STATE'S VIEW: RECLAMATION, WATER, INDUSTRIAL CROPS ARE A PRIORITY<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ihor KLYMENOK, Head of the State Agency of Ukraine for Development of Land Reclamation, Fisheries and Food Programmes, emphasised:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udcac\"Sustainability of the agricultural sector starts with water and land reclamation. New technologies, modern crops and cluster development models are the way to ensure that Ukraine maintains food stability and moves towards European standards.\"<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u2600\ufe0f\u041a\u041b\u0406\u041c\u0410\u0422 IS NOT WAITING: WHAT THE COUNTRY WILL BE LIKE IN 20 YEARS DEPENDS ON US<br><\/strong>Alla STOIANOVA, Head of the Agrarian Odesa Region parliamentary group, emphasised in her welcoming speech: \ud83d\udcac \"Bioadaptation technologies are an economic driver. The global market for bio-agro technologies is growing phenomenally: in 2023, it was about $ 12 billion, and by 2030 it is projected to increase to more than $ 25 billion.<br>Ukraine has a chance to take its share - especially in the southern regions, where natural conditions make us one step ahead.<br>The economic effects of bioadaptation are obvious:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Reduction of mineral fertiliser costs by 20-40%;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>water savings of up to 50%;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>stabilisation of yields even in dry years;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>margin increase by 15-25%;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>formation of new export niches.<br>And most importantly, it is about strengthening Ukraine's climate resilience, which is now a matter of national security.<br>Our task is not to adapt to the crisis, but to get ahead of it. Soils do not wait. Water does not wait. And we have no right to wait either.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Our steps:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Scaling up irrigation systems with a focus on resource-saving technologies. Odesa region already demonstrates a model of synergy between farmers, scientists and water users.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Establish national programmes on bioadaptive technologies, including support for farmers adopting innovative solutions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Developing research sites, particularly in the southern regions, to study sustainable crops such as sorghum, chickpea, cotton, olive, almond, and energy crops.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Integration of Ukrainian science into global consortia<br>- because only together can we reach the scale that changes the economy.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Support for farmers who are working in the most difficult conditions today, but are holding the food front.\"<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>THE REVIVAL OF A VILLAGE DOES NOT BEGIN WITH THE CONSTRUCTION OF CONCRETE WALLS, BUT WITH VISION, LOVE AND BOLD FAITH IN THE FUTURE.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Ms Alla Stoyanova noted<\/strong>In the vast landscapes of the Danube region, in the village of Semisotky, there is a project that goes far beyond a local initiative. It is an eco-settlement of the future, created by local farmer Oleksandr Palariiev and a team of like-minded people. The project combines the philosophy of sustainable development and a sincere love for his native land - an eco-friendly, energy-efficient, tourist-attractive village fully integrated into the modern European trend of green autonomy. This is a beautiful, concise and at the same time meaningful block that logically fits into your article and reinforces the topic of bioadaptation technologies on the example of Odesa region. According to Alla Andriyivna, another striking example of bioadaptive solutions in the South of Ukraine is the development of organic production and the activities of the AIC. Today, more than 100,000 hectares are covered by organic farming in Odesa Oblast, and this figure demonstrates a strategic step in the formation of a new model of agriculture. Organic production is a real bio-adaptive technology that relies on natural processes, local biodiversity and ecosystem interconnections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> This is the approach that makes it possible:<br>- restore soils without aggressive chemicals,<br>- Increase crop resilience to climate stress,<br>- reduce dependence on expensive imported resources,<br>- create products with high added value and export potential.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\ud83c\udfa4 EXTREMELY PROFESSIONAL MODERATION<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The conference moderator, Margarita Stepanova, Honoured Worker of Agriculture of Ukraine, PhD in Economics, set the tone for the discussion with high professionalism, structure and depth. Her style is a combination of academic precision and practical wisdom. It was thanks to her that each report became a logical part of a single intellectual canvas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\ud83c\udf31 WHAT TECHNOLOGIES OF THE FUTURE DID THEY TALK ABOUT?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udd39 Engineering solutions for the restoration of bioresources in the Kuyalnik Estuary<br>Oleksandr Shestun and Oleg Derkach presented an innovative model for the restoration of one of the most unique natural sites in Ukraine.<br>This is a project that combines engineering, ecology and a cluster approach to environmental management.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udd39 Successful cases of startups in the South of Ukraine<br>Ian Shapiro (U-Nation) showed how agro-innovation can scale and turn the region into a technology hub despite the war.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udd39 Modern systems of plant photostimulation PHOTOZONE<br>Sergey Shalyapin demonstrated engineering solutions that are already increasing plant productivity and saving resources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udd39 Innovations in bioenergy<br>Georgii Geletukha stressed the importance of bioenergy as the basis for energy independence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udd39 Integration of space monitoring<br>Eduard Pleshko showed how satellite data is becoming a key element of innovative agricultural technologies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udd39 Development of cluster initiatives (Cluster4Regions)<br>Tatiana Kotenko presented tools to support regional innovation ecosystems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udd39 Biostimulants and microbial technologies<br>Structural reports were presented:<br>- Roman Sokolov - innovations based on algae;<br>- Myroslav Parkhomenko - the economics of microbial drugs;<br>- Svitlana Petrenko - the use of digestates from biogas plants in the production of microalgae.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udd39 Climate-neutral production<br>Olena Bulavina (OLIVA) talks about health, sustainability and the new generation of food technologies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\ud83e\udd1d INTERNATIONAL PARTNERSHIP: THREE IMPORTANT MEMORANDA SIGNED<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One of the key moments of the event was the formation of new strategic alliances.<br>\ud83d\udccc 1. Memorandum between IACSG NAAS and Agromodvita, Moldova.<br>In his speech, Yuriy Morar, Director of Agromodvita and President of Akademika Science and Technology Park, said:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\"Moldova and Ukraine share a common climate logic and the same challenge - adaptation. Our partnership will create space for new joint research and production solutions.\"<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udccc 2. Memorandum between ICAEW NAAS and Kuyalnytskyi National Nature Park<br>The document establishes engineering and environmental cooperation to restore the unique natural system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udccc 3. Memorandum between ICOSG NAAS and OLIVA Health Laboratory<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Strategic cooperation between science and business focused on healthy, climate-neutral production.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bioadaptive technologies are a new paradigm of agricultural production. The conference showed that:<br>- Southern Ukraine is becoming the centre of Ukraine's agricultural innovation;<br>- science and business create new solutions together;<br>- International partnerships open the door to great transformations;<br>- An ecosystem approach is the only way to sustainability.<br>And most importantly, when engineers, scientists, innovators and managers come together on one platform, more than just a discussion is born. The future is born.
