A visit to the PEDAGOGIUM HIGHER SCHOOL OF SOCIAL SCIENCES IN WARSAW Agricultural University was one of the highlights of the Ukrainian delegation that arrived in Poland as part of a meeting with the Japanese company KAKUICHI. This trip was not only a great opportunity to exchange experience between the Ukrainian and Polish agricultural sectors, but also allowed for deeper understanding and cooperation between the countries in the field of agriculture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

PEDAGOGIUM HIGHER SCHOOL OF SOCIAL SCIENCES IN WARSAW: a centre of innovation and knowledge<\/p>\n\n\n\n

PEDAGOGIUM HIGHER SCHOOL OF SOCIAL SCIENCES IN WARSAW is one of the leading educational institutions in Poland specialising in agriculture and natural sciences. It is a place where scientific research and practical knowledge are combined, where students and teachers work on solving current agricultural problems and improving agricultural technologies. Students at the university study the latest methods of soil cultivation, irrigation, and plant genetics. Noting the difference between the agricultural sectors of the two countries, it is worth emphasising that Poland is actively integrating innovative technologies into agriculture, which can significantly increase yields and reduce environmental impact.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Orchard: a moment of taste and delight<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of the highlights of the visit was a visit to a pear and apple orchard. The Ukrainian delegation had the opportunity not only to see what the fields where the delicious fruit is grown look like, but also to taste it. \"These pears and apples are not just fruits, they are real works of nature!\" shared her impressions Alla Stoyanova<\/a>who, together with colleagues from Ukraine, had the opportunity to taste Polish fruit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The products were so tasty and juicy that every moment spent at the facility seemed unforgettable. The impressions from this visit became a vivid metaphor for the importance of sharing experience in the field of agronomy in order to develop our own capabilities and achieve high results.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Discussion of the development of the agricultural sectors of the three countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the meeting with their Polish counterparts, the Ukrainian-Japanese delegates discussed key areas of agricultural development in the three countries. One of the main topics was the integration of the latest technologies into agriculture. Poland is already actively implementing innovations, in particular in precision farming, process automation and environmental efficiency. Ukraine, for its part, is seeking to develop these areas, particularly in the context of improving irrigation, optimising fertilisers and introducing modern soil cultivation methods. Japan is ready to support this with its technologies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alla Stoyanova noted that the development of small and medium-sized farms is particularly important, as they can become a driving force in agrarian reform. \"We need to invest in the education of our farmers, provide them with access to new technologies and knowledge. This will increase their competitiveness in global markets,\" she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ryu Tanaka, President and CEO of KAKUICHI, also shared his vision for the future of the agricultural sector, saying: \"We believe that the use of advanced technologies such as nanobubbles can be a solution to many of the challenges faced by farmers around the world. In Ukraine, as in Poland, farmers can significantly increase the efficiency of their farms through innovation, and we are ready to support this process.\"<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The agricultural sectors of Poland and Ukraine share common features, but there are also significant differences that determine the level of development and efficiency of their operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Differences in the agricultural sector in Poland and Ukraine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. Innovative technologies and automation. Poland is actively implementing the latest agricultural technologies, automating the processes of growing and processing. The use of modern agricultural robots, drones for crop monitoring, and precision farming is a common practice for Polish farmers. In Ukraine, innovations are only beginning to gradually enter agricultural practice, with some farmers still cultivating land using traditional methods.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. Training and education. Poland has a high level of agricultural education, especially in universities and research institutes. Agricultural educational institutions are actively training specialists who have knowledge of the latest technologies and modern farming methods. In Ukraine, at this stage, there is a shortage of personnel with the appropriate qualifications to work with the latest technologies, which slows down the development of the agricultural sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. Environmental friendliness and sustainability of production. Poland is actively working to reduce the ecological footprint of its agricultural industry by applying organic farming, biological pest control methods, and water management systems. In Ukraine, this aspect is still at an early stage of development, particularly in the context of water management and sustainable agricultural practices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4. Exports and international relations. Poland is one of the largest exporters of agricultural products in Europe and the world, with well-developed logistics and convenient trade agreements with the EU and other countries. Ukraine has a large export potential, but faces infrastructure problems and some trade barriers that limit rapid scaling up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

5. Financing and state support. Poland has a well-developed system of state subsidies and grants for farmers, as well as opportunities for financing through European agricultural support programmes. In Ukraine, farmers' financing often depends on private investment and donors, and many farmers face difficulties in obtaining state subsidies or loans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Agricultural sector<\/a> Ukraine has great potential, which, however, has not yet been fully realised. The development of this sector is critical for the country's economy, given its natural resources, fertile soils and strategic location as a major food supplier in Europe and the world. However, in order for the sector to become even more competitive, it needs to introduce modern technologies, improve human resources and attract investment. This is why the recommendations for the development of the Ukrainian agricultural sector are particularly relevant in the current context.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Ukrainian agricultural experts, it is necessary:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. Invest in education and training. Ukraine needs to significantly strengthen the system of training agricultural professionals. This includes creating curricula that focus on the latest agricultural technologies, process automation and sustainable development. Collaboration with international universities and research centres will help Ukrainian specialists to master modern methods of agricultural production.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. Accelerate the introduction of innovations in the agricultural sector. Ukraine should more actively introduce precision farming technologies, automate production processes, and use data from satellites and unmanned aerial vehicles to monitor the condition of fields. This will significantly increase yields, cut costs and reduce environmental impact.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. Support environmentally friendly production. Ukraine should invest in organic farming and other sustainable farming practices. Establishing norms and standards for organic products and developing biological methods of pest control will increase the environmental friendliness of production and create competitive advantages in international markets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4. Create favourable conditions for export development. Ukraine needs to develop infrastructure for agricultural exports, improve logistics, ease bureaucratic procedures, and reduce trade barriers. In addition, it is important to strengthen international trade relations, in particular through the conclusion of agreements with the EU, Asia and the Middle East.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

5. Improve access to finance and subsidies. It is necessary to develop mechanisms of state support for farmers that will allow them to receive cheap financing for the introduction of new technologies and expansion of production.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition, it is important to ensure transparency in the provision of subsidies and grants to avoid corruption risks and create a level playing field for all farmers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"Poland is a leader in many aspects of the agricultural sector, and Ukraine can learn a lot from this country. However, to be competitive on the global market, Ukraine needs to promote education, innovation, sustainable production and access to finance. Attracting international partners such as Poland and Japan is an important step towards the success of the Ukrainian agricultural sector in the future, and I am confident that we can do this in Ukraine. We need to invest in our future, train our farmers and provide them with all the necessary tools to work efficiently. I see great prospects in cooperation with Polish and Japanese partners, and I am ready to contribute to this process,\" emphasises Alla Stoyanova.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The meeting discussed not only agricultural technologies, but also innovative artificial intelligence technologies, including the Japanese analogue of ChatGPT, which is actively developing in Japan. The participants shared their views on the implementation and development of such technologies, which can significantly change the agricultural sector of both countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Particular attention was paid to the application's potential for use in agriculture. The Japanese analogue is unique due to its specific adaptation to the language and cultural characteristics of the Japanese market, which allows for more accurate and efficient forecasts and recommendations for farmers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This issue has become important against the backdrop of the rapid development of artificial intelligence technologies in Japan, where personalised systems for farmers are already being created to help optimise processes from growing crops to harvesting. Such a system can help Ukrainian farmers not only automate processes but also improve work efficiency by creating forecasts of weather, yields, and the best times for planting and harvesting (there is a link in the photo for those who are interested in trying it).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This visit was not only a symbol of exchange of experience, but also a confirmation of the importance of interacting, sharing knowledge and working together to develop the agricultural sectors of our countries. Poland and Ukraine have much in common, and together we can achieve great results by strengthening our agricultural traditions and investing in the future of agriculture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
